Important to Exhibitors
All pre-fair entries must be sent to Laura Melberg, 541 4th
St. E., Hector, MN 55342, before August 1. If you wish tags returned to you, send
them earlier and enclose postage. Otherwise pick up your tags on the first day of
the Fair in the Division you are entering. Competition for premiums is open to any
resident of the State of Minnesota.
Entries are to be made with the superintendent
of the division, not at the secretary?s office. When an entry is made, the
Superintendent of the Division will give you a duplicate containing the Division
letter and the number of the entry. Exhibitors must check to see that the
information is correct and that the goods are in shape to be intelligently judged.
Sealed articles must be opened if necessary. Superintendents will take charge of
their respective departments and see that they remain undisturbed during the Fair.
Only one exhibit per exhibitor will be permitted in any Lot of Divisions: F, G. H,
HA, and HB.
Entries in all the departments except D, Swine, will be received
starting at 10 a.m. and up to 6 p.m. on the first day of the Fair, Tuesday, August
14. All articles and animals entered for premiums must be exhibited from 6 p.m. of
the first day of the fair until 10 p.m. of the last day, except market hogs.
All
articles and animals entered must correspond in number, kind, and description with
the Premium List in order to obtain a premium. No premiums will be given on entries
not listed. Premiums shall not be awarded to articles or animals that are inferior,
even though there shall be no competition. The same articles or animals cannot
compete for more than one premium, unless it be a sweepstake or special premium, nor
can any article or animal entered for a specific premium go to make a variety or
display for which another premium is offered. Blue is the color of the first premium
and red is the second. No premiums shall be paid to any article in Division G and H
that has received a premium at the Renville County Fair prior to this year. In case
there is not enough money in the treasury to pay the premiums in full, they will be
paid pro-rate.
The Renville County Agricultural Society will take every precaution
in their power for the preservation of articles and stock on exhibition, but will
not be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur during their delivery upon
the grounds, their exhibition, or removal.
Exhibitors must attach cards to their
animals on exhibition, showing ownership, age, weight, breed, and any information
desired. Such cards are to be removed by the Superintendent before being viewed by
the judges. Borrowing, hiring, or temporarily buying animals or any articles
whatever for the purpose of strengthening their exhibits, for show is positively
prohibited, and if the same is reported to the Secretary, said entry will be barred
from competition and will not be awarded any premium.
If it shall be ascertained
that an exhibitor has made any false statement in regard to any article or animal
exhibited by him, or if he shall attempt to interfere with, or influence the judges
in any manner, he shall be excluded from competition.
Exhibitors of livestock must
report to the Superintendent in charge at 9 a.m. each day for orders. They must also
check with the Superintendent of the Division as to when their stock will be judged.
Stock must be in the show ring promptly after being called. Any person failing to
comply with this order will be ruled out of competition.
Premiums will be paid only
on classes of livestock listed in this Premium List. Protests against the awarding,
on the grounds of incompetency, or previous bias, must be made in writing to the
superintendent of the class before the award of the committee is declared. All
protests and appeals from the division of the awarding committee or judges must be
made in writing to the Secretary BEFORE the fair closes.
Judges of sweepstakes will
give the award of the animal, pen, herd, or exhibit, that they shall judge to be the
best type of representative of this breed or class.
The Fair Association will not be
responsible for personal injury sustained to any exhibitor, employee or patron, or
any damage done to any animal or property.
The Renville County Agricultural Society
wishes to promote a wholesome and educational event for the entire family. All
exhibits and displays are subject to review by the Renville County Agricultural
Society and the Renville County Fair Secretary. Any items or material which are
deemed as inappropriate for display must be removed by exhibitor upon request by
fair officials. The following items are included in the above ban:
Weapons (death
stars, butterfly knives)
Sexually explicit/pornographic material
Vulgar/profane
materials
The Renville County Ag Society has the right and has complete control of
all issues on the grounds.
Exhibits and displays are meant to be enjoyed by all fair
goers. Please help us make the Renville County Fair a pleasant experience for all
ages.
When bringing exhibits to the Fair, report to the superintendent in charge or
the department in which you wish to enter. Payments of premiums by check in the open
class departments will be paid at the secretary?s office. Announcements will be made
from time to time. Please check on the last day. Any check not picked up will be
mailed out. if an error has been made, please contact the secretary. After the fair

Section I
All public exhibitions
or shows of livestock, including state and county fairs, shall be under the
supervision of the Minnesota State Livestock Sanitary Board, hereinafter called the
Board.
Section II
Management of Exhibition
1715.0040
The management of an
exhibition shall:
A. Comply with all reasonable orders of the board or the official
veterinarian pertaining to the sanitation of premises and the health status of all
livestock and poultry exhibited.
B. Clean and disinfect all building and exhibit
areas for the use of livestock and poultry prior to the opening date of the
exhibition and during the exhibition if livestock and poultry are released and new
livestock and poultry are brought to the exhibition premises, and maintain the areas
in a sanitary condition.
C. Provide quarantine facility for any livestock or poultry
showing symptoms of infectious or communicable disease. If a quarantine facility is
impractical, any livestock or poultry showing symptoms of infectious or communicable
disease shall be removed from the premises by the exhibitor veterinarian.
D. Employ
an official veterinarian when cattle, swine, sheep, goats, horses, or poultry are
exhibited.
