What is 4-H in Renville County?
Our 4-H program has approximately 180 youth and 85 adult volunteers. There are 10 clubs located throughout the county. Each club meets at least six times a year; at their meetings there may be discussions on community service activities, fundraising, club projects, demonstrations, club business and also the possibility of a guest speaker.
4-H is a part of the University of Minnesota Extension. It is funded primarily through donations and our county-wide fundraisers which include the Renville County 4-H Golf Tournament (held in July) and the 4-H Snack Bar (held in the 4-H building at the fairgrounds during the county fair).
4-H members do more than just participate in the county fair. They also can participate at the club, regional, state and national level. In Renville County, 4-H members can participate in Foods Revue, Demonstration Day, livestock workshops, sewing workshops, camp, Citizenship Washington Focus, arts-in, share the fun, community pride projects, day camps, enrichment activities and more!!
